Copy pasting CSV (Comma Separated Values<\/a>) is pretty easy in Excel 2013 !<\/p>\n

In short : use the Data<\/em><\/span> ><\/strong> Text to Columns<\/span><\/em> option.<\/p>\n

Starting with a CSV file, like the following one, open it in Excel : each row is in one single cell, while you might want them to be separated.<\/p>\n

Then click on the Data<\/em><\/span> ><\/strong> Text to Columns<\/span><\/em> option<\/p>\n

In the Convert Text to Column Wizard, step 1, leave the default option, Delimited<\/span> <\/em>file type<\/p>\n

In the Convert Text to Column Wizard, step 2, select Comma<\/em> <\/span>as a Delimiters<\/em> <\/span>(or another one if necessary, like semicolon ; or pipe |)<\/p>\n

In the Convert Text to Column Wizard, step 3, you might want to change all the non numerical columns formatting to Text<\/em><\/span>, this to avoiding loosing leading zeros for example<\/p>\n

Simply click on the first column, then while holding Shift<\/strong> butting, click on the last one or your selection – you can also add columns to the selection by holding Ctrl<\/strong> and clicking on the column – then select Column data format<\/em><\/span> as Text<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Before hitting the Finish button, in case you get the error message “There’s already data here. Do you want to replace it ?<\/em>“, or to avoid getting it<\/p>\n

Select another Destination<\/em> <\/span>cell, and click on an empty cell in the same sheet.<\/p>\n

You can then click Finish<\/span> <\/em>– and voil\u00e0 ! Your CSV values have been pasted properly in Excel cells<\/p>\n
