D. Gilson, AutoInsurance.org: take courses through Google Digital Garage
During the current pandemic that has many of us staying at home, I’m loving taking courses through Google Digital Garage. From SEO writing to digital marketing campaign management, these courses offer a variety of skills that are increasingly important for workers in 2020 and beyond.
Google Digital Garage: Learn online marketing with free coursesPlus, perhaps the best part of these courses: They are all FREE. That’s right. Google is offering these courses to anyone and everyone with access to a computer and the internet who wants to take advantage of them. The courses are designed by top folks not only at Google, but also other industry and academic leaders.
These courses aren’t required by my company, but they are making me a better employee who understands the online writing process better.
D. Gilson, PhD, is an auto insurance specialist at AutoInsurance.org and has taught writing and popular culture studies at the university level for more than a decade.
Joe Flanagan, 90s Fashion World: short course at the university of Artls London
I just finished a short course at the University of Arts London regarding Fashion Journalism. I am also closely following the open courses that are live daily at Creative Live, particularly the ones about design. I believe that they are a great option for new users that feel like trying it out without paying a subscription.
Personally, I enjoyed them a lot and I found lots of great actionable tips that I could put into practice right away.

Kevin Miller, The Word Counter: We Offer Employees a $1000 Stipend for Online Courses
Recently, our organization created a Grow Your Craft fund, where we give remote employees $1,000 to spend on an online course of their choice. The only requirement is that it has to connect to the functional work area that the employee is in right now. We currently have employees enrolled in courses doing Google Analytics, Google Adwords, SQL, Data Analysis, and more. It has been a huge hit across the company with 80% adoption so far.
This is the perfect time to utilize online courses, and we are taking advantage of that opportunity.

Ljubica Cvetkovska, DealsOnCannabis: learn new languages with iTalki
One of my personal projects now that I'm in self-isolation is learning new languages online with Italki. It's perfect for practicing my Spanish since it allows me to learn in a more casual and conversational setting over video chat.
What I love about iTalki is that you can choose a tutor based on your exact regional language specifications. Since I'm planning to live as a digital nomad in Costa Rica once this is all over, I can learn Spanish the way it's specifically spoken in that country. The classes are not free, but they are inexpensive for the value they provide, and you can find a good tutor for less than $10 per hour.
It's also pretty neat because I can also teach classes as a side-gig on iTalki in my native tongue, Macedonian. So I can use my earnings to essentially trade for classes of languages that I'm interested in learning.
It's also a pretty good side-gig since I can do it on a casual basis when I have time, which is plenty these days!
