Google Analytics how to add a website to your account and get a Tracking ID
It might be a little tricky to add a new your website to your account. See below an example adding a new property www.maleraffine.com to a Google Analytics account.
To start with, go to the homepage https://analytics.google.com, log in, and click on ADMIN tab.
There, on the drop down list with your websites, there is a Create new account button – press it
Enter the details of your website : Account name, Website name, Website URL, Industry Category, Reporting Time Zone, and select the options you’d like to use.
Scroll down and click Get Tracking ID
You’ll then be shown the Google Analytics terms & conditions – read them carefully.
And voilà, here’s your tracking ID, which you’ll need to use in your website – for example with WordPress plugin Google Analytics by MonsterInsights
Go back to the HOME tab, the new property should be there with a default view All Web Site Data.
Click on the default view, and you’ll be taken to the website’s analytics, which will most likely be empty as you just set up your account.
